My first effort at a freebuild! Feedback please! 1 Year, 2 Months ago
Always been a big fan of map design on other games, but never really got into the SH3 creator until now. It's actually a very nice program to work with once you get used to it! Just wish it had more items!

Anyhow, here is my first map. Set in the Gloucestershire countryside, it's a medium sized map with a nice range terrains and resources. Start of with a small amount of goods to get you started! Hope you enjoy!

And be harsh with the crit! It's always good!

Be great if people could try it and post on here what they think! Also let me know about any bugs you might find that I can change.

Im about 25 days in and I love it man, great job. The landscape looks perfect the way you sculpted and textured it. Great job with the details like the little cemetary and the animal placement. Overall it has a great realistic feel to it. I will be playing it again for sure.

My only suggestion would be throw in a wolf lair and bandit camp and some events if there aren't any (like I said I'm still early). Looking forward to whatever you do next.

Thanks for the feedback mate! Nice to hear the positive feedback. I must say I spent a while playing around with the textures etc. Lots of sounds and details chucked in!

Like the idea of the wolf lair and events! Not tried those out yet! Shall see what I can do tomorrow!

Keep the feedback coming people!

Awesome map man! One of the things I like about it is it's close to some of the SH1 maps on the military campaign(1,2,3). I liked about it was it actually felt like you were running a small medieval village or castle. SH2 just felt more like some modern city. You had to have so many buildings which made your comfortable castle some New York city thing.
Joe.

Very nice, I like the detailed terrain, a lot of hard work in there, I guess. Keep at it, add more!
