SH3 economy too strict. 1 Year, 1 Month ago

First and foremost, SH3 is great. But the economy should have more options. All the food comes from the Granary, right? Well, what would be cool was if peasants also grew gardens at their and tended chickens (those lazy wives standing around with babies could do this for instance). And while not able to fully replace food from the Granary or boost popularity significantly, it would provide some food for the castle occupants in that "community" of the castle. Another that would be cool is that you could give horses to workers. This would be such a help to a worker, it would boost popularity and enable him to produce more. And peasants sitting around a campfire has to go. They should be helping other peasants or doing basic castle chores (hauling water etc.), but if needed for a job would pass these chores to another and take up his job. I'll be posting more in this thread so keep up on it. And I hope someone can pass Feedback posts on to the developers so they can seriously think about adding things. Joe.

Oh what a brilliant idea. I too would love to see the peasants do random things around the keep once in a while. Like washing clothes or dusting around/near the keep or at least talking to each other or hauling water as you said. I love that idea!
Better than having the peasants there standing and just looking at their feet. lol

The things you ask for are big changes! Can't see things like this making SH3. I completely agree though, have always felt like pesants should be doing more than just sat around. They should be moving from house to house, playing cards, in and out of the inns/churches/markets. Would give the hole town more life and atmosphere!

Maybe in the next stronghold. I like this idea, can't believe I never considered it. What if the larger your population peasants automatically assumed useful jobs requiring no structures or player interaction like guard duty and repairing structures.

Isn't this how the engineers work in Stronghold 2? I would always build an engineer's guild then spawn about 10 engineers next to my stone walls. Then when an enemy knocks down some walls the engineers walk to the stock pile and get stone to rebuild the wall. Pretty cool to watch.

Yeah, but engineers cost gold and peasants do not automatically assume useful jobs that the player does not want to be bothered with.

I'm going to be writing more on this subject soon. And Crow, do the developers read our feedback on new ideas, or is our feedback useless? Joe.

Firefly states that they read every post and most feedback are very helpful when it comes to bug reporting.
Developers do read your posts but the thing is I don't think they're taking any wishlists on improvements or add-ons. Firefly's main priority is to take note of current glitches and hidden bugs to add polish to the game and make players more comfortable playing it.
If you have any concerns please contact Administrators.
Thank you.
