So i bought recently Stronghold 3 from amazon...and i was afraid as i read that there were so many bugs/glitches around..but at least this was not the case for me.I have yet to find a bug/glitch (as for right now cant remember if i get one or not but doubt it).
However i have some opinions regarding the castle constructions that im not liking..One of them is the walls..i have played all the other stronghold games and i dont know..its probably me or im kind of noob at sh3 but why is so hard to connect the walls/towers with eachother? I mean in sh2 i didnt have that problem i just drag the mouse over the place i want to connect and that is..here its not the case..it doesnt let me do that unless is connected to one of the doors of the tower (i find it lame because you cant really make the design you want)..and sometimes it wont allow you to close the castle at all.
Other thing i realise is the many kind of walls and castle defensive structures some of them are a bit confusing such as the rounded "walls" with like 4 path i believe theyre used to connect some walls but then again its still hard to properly do it.
Archers on walls seems to be weak even with the protection on it..it seems that the enemy archers or the "soldiers" (meele/spear thrower) which seems to kill the archers in like 2-3 spear attempts.
The lack of automatic response of the defensive siege units leaves a lot to wish..and i mean for what i could see during one mission in the campaign it seems that the "catapult" doesnt fire automatic..but its manual (same happen in other games but i thought it was going to be automatic)..i dont know if this is the case with the others defensive siege equipment such as the "ballista" (which was automatic in other games).
Traps however seems to work as inteded at least for the pits/spike traps.
The graphics arent bad at all..in fact im not using a good videocard and im running it at ultramax without any issue..but still since the game is based on 3D its kind of slow if we compare it with Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader (this is not new but this was in SH2 as well).
As for the multiplayer i have yet to test it but then again if i cant even get used to the walls and such i rather not try it just yet.Sad that there isnt a skirmish mode or a Player Vs AI kind of mode (besides campaigns)..as that could add fun if you want to play co-op with other players.
I like the fact that they removed the "trash"/"justice" stuff from SH2 which i kind of didnt like it as it added even more time to the matches and remove the "fast paced"..but then again the only fast paced stronghold games i really saw was SH/SHC and i believe it was because..it was just simple..i mean you still have to manage the popularity/food/produce the weapons and such..but it didnt go far from it..the interface was really friendly and easy to use which i believe is more complex in SH3.
The battle campaign (i have not finished it yet) seems decent..it could be better but is decent. As for the economic campaign i only joined the first mission and then drop it as i wanted to end the battle one first..but my only complain on the economic is ..what happen to the old economic campaign that we saw in SH2..where you had all this AI lords and castles and such (that i really like because it gave the feel of persistent world)..i mean from that to being alone is kind of boring..sorry if we actually get more AI in economic campaign with us then again i have not finish it yet only giving my opinions on what i have seen so far.
Anyways sorry if you cant understand this but english is not my main language so yeah
I will be posting later.. when i have more time in the game to see other aspects.
