actually Settlers 7 uses indeed the same engine but as said by those developers the only thing left from this engine in Settlers 7 is the particle system. All else is done in Custom Code.

Are there screenshots on the preview?

It's realtime strategy of course!

Yes there are screenshots in the magazine. They give you a nice first-look but are small as hell And they said already that the version they played looked a lot better than those shown (non bull)shots.


I'm really interested in the dynamic light part. They talked about city patrols with flares at night to prevent suprise attacks from not-seeable enemies because it's dark another option would be a lighthouse tower

Sounds quite nice.

But game will not be a like SH1 or SHC because engine probably was used like in SH2 in big building squares and not so detailed will be as in SH1 or SHC engine buildings stuff. Still cant wait any longer to see it D

I always hoped that SH3 will be a game on itīs own. I must admit I am disappointed with how things are going because of return to SH1 gameplay style. I do understand that maybe bit more players were more keen to SH1 than SH2 but I dont think that was because of gameplay but rather because of completely new graphics and general feel. Leaving out estate system instead of upgrading and building upon it is incomprehensible for me so I guess this is where our paths take different directions. I wish Firefly all best as they brought me much joy.
