Re:Gamestar will include a preview of SH 3!! 2 Years, 11 Months ago
I just began to read the article. Well, overall Stronghold 3 will be more like Stronghold 1. That means, no criminals, gong or these territory things like in Stronghold 2. But the building and attacking of castles will be improved greatly. The story will also continue from Stronghold 1 (Not Crusader).

Edit:

So I finished reading. Here are all the features I "spotted" ^^

- Stronghold 3 will be more like Stronghold 1, not Stronghold 2
- Stronghold 3 won't be that "complicated" as Stronghold 2, but also improves the important things from Stronghold 1, that means, better building and management of the castle, and better sieges.
- No gong, criminals, rats and territory things
- Story will continue from Stronghold 1, 10 years after you "defeated" Duc Volpe (Wolf)
- Stronghold 3 will have two different campaigns again, one with more fighting, one with more economic.
- Different management of taxes and the max. population: As farther away you build the houses from the keep, the worse they will visually look and you won't get as much taxes and people from them. That means, more realistic castles.
- Popularity-system will be similar to Stronghold 1
- Stronghold 3 will use the same graphics engine (Vision Engine) as The Settlers 7
- Stronghold 3 will use the PathEngine (Metro 2033, Just Cause 2 and Venetica) for the AI
- Stronghold 3 will use Havok for the physics. (Yes physics!)
- Walls can be build in a more "round way", so real circular castles are now possible, too.
- No fog of war, but they use a more realistic night system instead: If it is night, you need to build "lighthouses" or torch bearers so you can see the enemy.

Is the graphic engine better than stronghold 2?

Yes it will obviously have better graphics, settlers 7 (Although rubbish) was on a good engine.

Im disappointed about the territory aspects being nulled or removed, i liked having villages and fiefs under me.

I have to say: It is simply bul**** to remove all those features.
Territories were a good thing and micromanagment to. But lets see. Might Sh3 has got some surprises.

@Salah al din
Maybe for you. But most people, including me, like Stronghold 1 more without the annoying "micromanagement".
