good idea i didn't think of that, and your probably right... it would be just too hard to code :/ i guess they would need to make models for every piece of equipment and it would also push the requirements up. but what do we know! maybe they'll surprise us

Well, my idea was more that your army would be created BEFORE the game started, not in the middle of it. That way you can have all the time in the world to customize your pretty dolls - that kill each other .
Anyways, I know that this is probably a pipe dream, but letting Firefly know about will help them think about it for the next game - or even incorporate it if they haven't gotten too far into developement. Plus the fact that I'm pretty sure that customizable wall types is plenty feasible considering they had three castle types in Legends, which took about a year to create.'
Plus, just try telling me that being able to play an evil lord commanding armies of plate-clad pikemen and crossbows fighting against a goody-two shoes commander with knights and longbowmen wouldn't be awesome.

I disagree. I'm not exactly sure how, but Firefly should try doing something to make castles more realistic in terms of layout. There's a reason that they weren't made like that in real life, after all. Anyone here know the specifics?

It would look really weird to have someone in steel plate armour next to someone in bronze. Iron mail (not that there's such a thing as bronze mail) is much better than bronze armour. There are reasons they stopped using bronze once they got enough iron to replace it (iron replaced bronze for weapons centuries BC. It replaced bronze for body armour around year 0 (earlier for the gauls) and for helmets bronze was replaced some centuries AD).

And for weapons it could be like: different swords(both which metal its made of and like one handed and two handed)
spears, phalanx(very long spears), axes, pikes, mace, and so on :D
A phalanx is not a weapon, it's a formation (two different formations actually, Greek phalanxes are different from Macedonian ones). The weapons used in a Macedonian phalanx are called sarissa which are 4-7 meter (13-21 feet) long spears, not very different from pikes which are 3-6 meter (10-20 feet) long spears.
Yeah i know that they used bronze earlier but didn't know what else armor type to write >.<
And i knew that phalanx isn't the name of the weapon but the squad... but i didn't knew the name of the weapon they use(more than i can call it long spear)... so that why i wrote phalanx so people understand what i mean... had i just written "long spear" they would just think that i mean 2m long spear or something... i mean more like 5-6-7m long

when i think about it, who would like to see some tool for building customizations. if you ever played spore and played it until it changed to strategy game, you would know the building editor in it. its like you have a list of roofs, walls, doors and windows and so on. now how cool would it be if you could actualy create a new lord and design all the buildings (or leave default) it would be interesting and it would solve the problem with stereotype building in this game :3 i want to hear your opinion on this topic

Er... frankly, it sounds even less likely than customizing your troops and lord. Would it be awesome? Yes! Would it be feasible? Probably not. A troop editor could be done like any generic RPG equipment menu, and a lord editor could basically be the same thing with a couple extra tabs for traits, but a full building editor/creator - that would take a lot of work, even if it was just customizing looks.
Of course, it would be absolutely amazing if they could pull it off. I'd be content with multiple types of architecture schemes, though.

there should be different cultural things 3 Years ago

THERE SHOULD BE FEUDAL JAPANESE SAMURAI THAT YOU CAN CHOOSE TO HAVE IF YOU WANT THE ULTIMATE KNIGHT THAT CAN SWITCH WITH WEAPONS, THE CATCH WOULD BE SIMPLE TO THE GAME, YOU JUST NEED TO WEAPONS AND TRAINING POSTS TO DECIDE THE STRENGTH OF YOUR WARRIORS. tHERE SHUOLD ALSO BE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TIME PERIODS THAT YOU CAN HAVE, SUCH AS A LORD THAT WANTS TO MODERNIZE AND HAVE SOMETHING BETTER, OR A VERY STABLE AND POWERFULM LORD THAT WANTS THINGS TRADITIONAL AND DOES NOT NEED TO GO THROUGH THE "RISING STAR" STAGE IN A COUNTRY

Not that I think there's any danger of it happening, but still: No Samurai in Stronghold 3.

Other then for the lord, I do not see the shine of customisation. Customising the lord, upgrading his armor, attack power, maybe adding a (cross)bow to him for extra usefulness, coloring and painting his/her armor is a nice idea, but 1000 custom troops on the battlefield would highly stress the game system and/or player's PCs. I don't know if Stronghold 2 had a memory leak or if it was just badly optimised, but thinking back on how laggy it was even with a state-of-the-art PC, I have to vote against troop customisation.

I would like to be able to customize the coat of arms, make slightly more individualistic, but anything in addition to that should be balanced out against playability, and realistic system specs that are out there.
