Real Time Map Maker 3 Years ago
I think we all remember in the original Stronghold and Stronghold:Crusaders, the real time map maker. Where you could create a map and input units all in real time without having to save the map and loading it through the single/multiplayer scenario screen. In my opinion that was one of the best features of Stronghold. I know that is not included in Stronghold 2, and am unaware if it exists in another other Stronghold game.

I do hope that the developers at Firefly Studios would consider adding this to Stronghold 3, or having it as an option. I think that would improve the game.

I hope those of you at Firefly will take this into consideration. I am viciously craving the release of Stronghold 3. Thank you for your time.

I second this! Please readd this feature in the new game.

If they make it a toggle, that would be perfect. As much as I love randomly thrashing hundreds of soldiers in a siege, sometimes I like to build a scenario where conflicting troops start next to each other.

The developers could add a toggle A.I. button to please both sides.

a Real time editor eh? that might be pretty cool if it had a toggle, like we all say. but im wondering about the CPU requirements for an editor like that?

I'm pretty sure that the editor in SHC didn't melt computers or anything, if that's what you're asking. It's not like the AI was advanced or anything, really it just has basic survival insticts and that's it.

I never found it boring; quite contrary. I became a master with scripting and map making after years of playing with it. The map editor is what gave SH2 its unique and long lasting feel and every time I play a game I check to see if there is a map editor.

I don't think anyone is saying that a map editor is bad thing. It's just that it's only a map editor. There are many other games with a map editor, but an interactive one is more interesting, especially for city/castle building games with a good system for warfare (though I think the Stronghold series are the only ones).

Yeah i remember then i played stronghold i could play with the map editor for hours^^
But i don't know with sh3, if sh3 will have graphics like the games nowdays i think it would lag.
And also it would need a toggle like others say.
otherwise if you make a hardcore nice map it would be hard if the units is running away and killing each other and ****.

And also i think the editor should have even more possibilities then sh2. It would be fun and it would take longer until you get bored f the game, and also it would be funnier to play online to see others map.
I think the most people have played wc3, and you cant say that the editor there isn't awesome, you can basically do anything!
