I think i speak for every single SH fan (the ones who are still around that is!) when i say "whats happening??"

we have had no news for two months now, and the forums are pretty much dead, i have practically given up playing SH all together now,

FF, are you doing anything at all?? dont you think the fans of SH who have played YOUR GAMES for over TEN YEARS deserve a bit of news?? talk about spitting in our faces.

and enough with the "the game is not dead" ********, everyone is capable of lying, is that a lie?? we want actual news.

and dont accuse me of flame posting either, im just speaking up for your CUSTOMERS who want to know if theres anything else being done with this game?

two months... surely you have some idea of whats going into the next patch, so why cant you tell us?? we wont wait for you, you need to tease us with these things to keep us here... whats left of us anyway

Firefly cannot just announce something without knowing the amount of work and time ahead of them. They're working hard on this next patch. There will be no announcements as far as I'm concerned until the update is at it's peak of being finished to estimate a time and date when it will be released.

My personal opinion is I'd rather wait with no announcements than be teased with delay after delay like other developers do.

so two months since the last patch and they cannot figure out how long until they can release it?? thats either a good thing or an extremely bad thing, im going to say its a good thing and its going to be an extremely large patch.

do you have any idea what this patch will do though? is it solely performance based or will there be new features?? a tiny amount of info like that would be enough to keep the fans interested, not asking for deadlines or release dates.

100 percent agree with the opening post. Sure it's good that they aren't commiting themselves to a date too early. But all public relations have completely disapeared. There used to be around 3-4 good admins on here that would post and reply to posts often. Lucky to get a 1 post every 2 weeks now.

There are other ways of showing the fans that the game is not dead other than official dates!! I think a news feed should of been added onto the games menu screen!

Facebook and Twitter are being completely wasted!! Even the odd photo of the team working away or one post a week would just give some reasurance.

Surely it's a bad thing when multiple people on the official forums are posting suggesting the games dead with no real response.

Details of next patch cannot be spared just yet. Anything can happen along the way. I do agree with daitken92 that a news feed could be added on game menu like Stronghold Kingdoms. That would be nice

I understand about the patch details being held back, staff have explained on here before.

But it's just all PR in general. I know they have said on here that they don't have specific person to deal with PR. But surely a little more news and input from Firefly wouldn't take up too much time and effort.

It's clearly an area that needs improvement and they have stated that themselves.

An easy solution to start with is to not go quiet on your fans who are asking for news and responses whilst waiting for improvements. Especially when you have tools such as Facebook and Twitter.

Don't want to sound like i'm ranting. I just feel I speak for many!

I understand how frustrated the public has become but good things come for those who wait. And no you don't sound like your ranting. I empathize the fact that alot of customers are owners of a game that did not meet their expectations. Developers are striving to solve this problem with next patch.

I think lucifer is doing a good job at trying to alay our fears.

most of what you said lucifer could have been said by a dev of the game and this would have improved the communities feelings no doubt.

I recently went through BF3's epic fail in informing their community what was happening. I have to say that some simple comments like, we are working on the new patch, we hope to be able to implement fixes to performance and key issue areas would've been helpful.

I know some fans will flame the dev no matter what they say, but some like me would be happy with a note saying "were working on a new patch, however we cannot provide a date or details as its being discussed how much work can be done in a reasonable timeframe" etc... this doesn't hold the dev to anything but fans at least feel they're being heard. Even a "were listening to your feedback message" every couple of weeks maybe even sighting a suggestion from a fan (whether or not it can be implemented)would also help.

I totally understand why devs can't say a date unless they're very close to having it finished as fixes can sometimes break other things. This was shown perfectly in BF3 where they stated a date which went past and then another date which also went past and finally they gave a ranged date which was probably too large somewhere in the next 3 mths is a bit excessive, but progress updates are good like "30% completed, alpha test completed etc..." these don't really mean anything but give the customers a feeling that things are progressing.

Has anybody seen that???!!! İn a game magazine i have seen new screenshots of SH3 gold edition (if i'm not mistaken) becouse there was a medieval ship in it. Has the old SH3 scenarios got some ship in it? i don't remember if there is one. if i don't remember wrong that means that they have prepared something new. Let's wait and see.
