I read somwhere that SH3 wasn't built for skirmish and was never going to have skirmish mode added. So why did they call it Stronghold 3 when Stronhold 2 had skirmish? Does it not reek dishonesty. I bought the game for kingmaker. I have no desire to go online and play multiplayer.

My point is why was this not made clear before I bought the game and why confuse your fans by calling it stronghold at all. What the hell is going on. One minutes face to face with the idiot who managed this mess I feel cheated.

They made it abundantly clear in multiple previews and interviews made before the game came out that this Stronghold would not have a skirmish mode. Deal with it, and learn to research the game a little more thoroughly next time.

Edit: Just to be clear, I'm not apologizing for the game's many shortcomings - in fact, I don't even own the game at all for that very reason.

The first Stronghold did not have Skirmish either.

That's fascinating but entirely irrelevant.

It is relevant, because Stronghold 3 is the sequel to the Stronghold 1, Stronghold 1 didn't include skirmish and Stronghold 3 was build like Stronghold 1. Thus makes skirmish not included in Stronghold 3.

And you don't think that games, their features and community expectations have changed changed in the intervening decade? Consider contemporary RTS' features; I'm picking any that you name have a skirmish or equivalent.

Why would anyone purchase the game if it were to be a mirror-image of the original? The claim makes no sense.

I'd also highlight that the absence of a skirmish mode further exacerbates the multiplayer issue. The game still has no stable multiplayer and, even if FF manage to fix it (I'd posit their ability to do so has been proven false after nine patches), there is no one to play because the community has given up. The game has no replay-value and never will.

We paid full retail price for a 40% finished, bug-ridden game with core functionality missing and a lack-****re campaign mode.

The continued adherence to the claim of feature parity is an absurdity.

Stronghold 2 had skirmish and was "is" called "kingmaker".

Maybe the title to this virsion should read: "STRONGHOLD 3 BETA MULTIPLAYER ONLY" Imagene the sales!

Anyway I have learned from this and will be very suspicious of Firefly and 7sixty.
