Hello , this game is not playable on multi , there should be a way to adjust game speed now it takes ages to play only one game . The other thing is there are almost no players on multi and a lot of starting bugs , for example from time to time you cannot hit ready nor start the game .

I agree that the game is become more playable and I am glad for that. I bought this for my son, who loves the stronghold series but have been holding off giving it to him. Maybe it is ready now.

But, some bugs/issues I have found while playing through the military campaign:

1. Troops do not attack. Quite often they just stand there dying without returning fire or charging and attacking. Quite frustrating to find 20 - 30 troops have been killed by a couple of archers.

2. When you tell a group of soldiers to attack, if that person dies, they stop moving and don't attack any other troops in that group. We need a way to say attack an army rather than individual soldier. If you click on the area to make them move, the archers run up and then engage in hand to hand.

3. When attacking an army inside the enemy castle, the archers will start attacking people before troops. Not good when they are supposed to be supporting the advance.

4. Wall construction is very flawed. Hard to add to walls, easiest way is to delete them and rebuild. Also I find you build a wall and a gap remains near a wall. Never know until the enemy walks through it.

5. I find it very hard or impossible to add towers or gates. There seems to be very few places you can put them.

6. Troops on the walls get stuck or can't move to certain locations. I have also selected a tower or wall (step icon is showing) and they march off outside the castle.

7. Game will often load with wall sections missing. They will only reappear if attacked. While missing troops cannot cross them.

8. I understand what you are trying to achieve with the new wall features but they don't work anywhere near as well as stronghold 2. Please bring back multilevel walls, or the ability to branch walls.

9.It seems very hard to actually place buildings, (barracks for example) against or as part of the wall.

10. Bears and wolves will end up killing half the population before troops can deal with them. They will also end up killing many of the troops. They are too tough and why don't villages defend themselves? This is an issue in campaigns when it takes a while to rebuild population. The only way I can find to deal with it is preempt their arrival to minimize any damage.

11. A catapults range seems very short and why can archers kill them so easily? Maybe let them kill the engineers and leave the equipment there to be reused by assigning new engineers?

12. Troop speed needs to be adjusted if they are selected as a group. i.e. archers don't run ahead and stay behind spear man, or the engineers with arrow shields (can't remember their name at the moment) stay ahead of the troops. It all seems to become a mess at the moment when they move as a group.

13. I agree on the food production either being too low or consumption too high. Too much space can be required for food production on maps where space is at a premium.

14. I also feel the sell/buy value for raw materials to be missmatched. Timber and stone is very low where food seems to be very high.

15. Can we have the ability to remove trees. Wall or building placement or completion can be lost due to a tree object. Also maybe give the ability to reshape land if require to complete walls, as would happen in a real situation.

Though, thank you for the game so far and hopefully you will deliver a game to better stronghold 2. Please remember that this is about strongholds and the game is about castle building.

thanks
Richard

Re:Stronghold 3 – We are listening and we are working 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Further to my previous email, some other issues I have found since playing some more:

1. It is very hard, or impossible to replace a wall section once destroyed. The wall tool will connect to one side (maybe) but not the other. Gives messages such as, "wall section too short", or "not your territory"

2. Stairs can still be hard to place and sometimes disappear (with troops standing in mid air.)

3. Towers seem very hard to place. Do we still have the option of troops climbing towers (SH2) without the need for a wall section or separate stairs? I haven't seen that yet.

4. Enemy archers will run up and start attacking the first troops they come across, which means they are out of range for return fire. Our troops will not automatically attack so a couple or archers can take out 30 - 40 troops with no return fire if we don't intervene. If one or two of our troops do decide to attack, the others all just stand there and watch.

As a though to the wall/tower placement issues. In the military campaign I just played (where you have to defend the forgers) it took my several attempts to build a complete wall across the valley with a gate in it. Either the gate wouldn't place, or if it did I couldn't complete the walls.

Why not add the capability to plan out the walls and towers (in a ghost mode or just with foundations) so that we can work out what will work with the landscape etc and then these could be built once stone becomes available, This would allow defenses to be planned early on but not completed until needed or appropriate resources gathers. It would also allow repositioning, etc without wasting resources.

There was a castle game (either PC or Amiga) many many years ago that did it this way and it was a great system to plan and watch the castle get built, while looking after the rest of the game play.

Thanks
Richard

No no save game function is needed as right now not having one is the only thing adding to the games replayability lol.

Well the game i bought is not worth playing it, I dont know if they can fix it or patch it or what, hope if they fix they make the fix simple enough for me to understand it, I would not have this game the way it is for free, much less the 50 bucks I paid for it. There will be snowballs in hell befor I buy another game from these people and I am going to let the whole world know it.

Ditto...
They have alienated their whole fanbase by releasing this horribly coded poorly programmed peice of garbage. Quite frankly it isnt worth the price of the plastic box and disk let alone 50 dollars.
I refunded my copy and have kept many potenital buyers from paying for this poor excuse of a game. Its beginning to look like this can never be patched up to a competent playing level.

I will give FF last chance on the coming patch tomorrow, and I feel so pessimistic anyway. If it will be still not up to the quality of the paid $50, I will write a review of several website including metacritic, and I will start the refund process and spread word to prevent more victims.

Imagine the game perfectly functional... Would it still be worth the effort? I still think it'll be boring with next to zero replay value...
