Thanks for the response, though it wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear =P

I wonder if something like Skirmish mode could be modded up by the community, or made in the map editor... time to check it out

...but a solatium is still to come: ad hoc sieges/invasions will be available via the F1 buttom (like in SH2 in free build modus). Admin Daz01 responds this to me on Nov19th. Hope it will come soon and that AI troups will work intelligent! Right now some of the siege troups are not running (for instance: soldiers with ladders)...again a bug?!

Wow...thats telepathy...good news!..- the Ad-Hoc invasion button will be ready tomorrow...great!!
By the way: (to Admin): the SH3 Mapeditor in my opinion is magnificent. Especially for creating every kind of landscape you want (by moving, rotating or sizing elements (stones, animals etc.).
Question to Administrator: would it also be possible -from a technical viewpoint- to upgrade the SH3-Mapeditor with a tool that let us modify banners, crests, skins, colours of soldiers, kingships, horse rugs..etc.? ..like the SH2 AI editor (2005) amoung other things could do? (thanks to the guys of stronghold-knights.com)...??..thanks in advance...

I'm not sure I understand the logic here. You guys didn't know that skirmish was one of the most popular features of all the SH games?? How does that make any sense if you were listening to the feedback all these years. I won't be pirating this game, because I want to support you guys, but I won't buy this game until the bugs are fixed. No, I am not angry, I am patient. I love the SH series, but as somebody posted on facebook, if you guys had started off launching a good game instead of the state it's currently in, don't you think you would've ended up with more people buying your game? More money to work with, a stronger and larger fanbase, and generally live better lives in your small game studio? Does any of that not make sense? You would've had a great score from all the critics, all the users, and everything would just be better, even if you hadn't put in skirmish mode the same as now, you could have had a great game, and people would've recommended it. I'm just kinda sad that one of my favorite series is doing so poorly just because it wasn't exactly finished when it was released. All the luck to you firefly, I am always hopeful.

Well i have been playing over and over to see the Patch improvments, so far works, BUT.......( always a but)

1. You need to remove the BOX around object placment, this is a must. Just copy SH 1, 2 it should not be that hard. Playing with this is just pointless.

2. The Buildings them selves are too BIG for enviroment way too big, they just take too much space on map. Needs to be decerased SIZE on map by 50%.

3. Food consuption is still too much, it takes 85% of populace to keep food stockpikes positive barly. So i suggest you cut food consumption by 50%. At least one pesant making food should be able to support two.

4. "Wood Cutters" there is three of them on one "Wood Cutter Hut" and the time it takes them to go back to stockpile, lets just say eather increase wood carry ammonunt by 100% or peasant speed by 75%, it just takes way too long.

Well thats all i have noticed or have to suggest for now. Will be waiting to see next Patch and then i will give more feedback, and suggestions.

I must agree that this is very annoying and often makes it difficult to get a good placement of the buildings.

Eh, some seem a bit large but I play on a large map and they seem to be ok to me. Not large enough to justify a 50% decrease.

I've never noticed this. But if I look at my production of food for say 38 peasants: 3 apple, 3 pork, 3 cheese, 3 wheat, 1 windmill, 4 bakers it's understood. Diversify. 17 food to 21 other. About 45% of the workforce is producing food. It does seem a bit steep but if you manage your estate properly it works out decently. Personally I think this ratio should be closer to a 35% (13-14 food to 24-25 other)

Never seen this problem... I usually have WAY too much wood from two Wood Cutter Huts and destroy one shortly into a game.

All in all, the game has become much more balanced now than from the beginning. A lot of nice new features.

Only problem I've seem to have noticed that has carried from the beginning is an odd quirk with the custom made maps. Whenever the lighting shifts (cloud passage, sun position or whatever causes it to brighten or darken for a bit) there is a 5 to 10 second pause (complete stop) in the game. Watching my system monitors when it happens on the second monitor I notice that the CPU usage will spike to between 50% to 75% (from about 25% average) and the GPU usage drops to between 2% and 4% (from about 30%) and the GPU memory usage drops down to about 1% as if the game temporarily ignores the GPU and GPU memory. Perhaps a texture buffer problem?

System is a dual processor AMD Opteron dual Core, 6GB ram and GPU is GeForce GT220 with 1GB dedicate memory. Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. (Does the same thing with x64 start or x86 start and only on custom maps, all 4 time of day modes and any time shifted in between.)

I have a nice story for this, when i played the fith campaign.. i was already playing 45 minutes i think and the campaign had a time limit and it was 30 seconds before death time and i still needed about 40 wood.. So the woodcuters were almost at the stockpile but they moved so slow, that the time limit was going down and i lost the campaign.. damn i was angry

Re:Stronghold 3 – We are listening and we are working 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Hello, i am a huge stronghold fan own and still play all of the versions. I have almost completed the military campaign and would like to add my ideas of what needs to be fixed. Units getting stuck on walls or in certain areas, not being able to build on both sides of the stone walls, faster villager spawn time (not a huge issue, but it would make it better), ability to rotate the map, military level where u can actually have time to build up a nice defense and be creative before the enemy attacks or when both castles are on the map to not be timed and have the ability to build your castle in a realistic way before being overrun by the enemy (i do want a challenge, but it doesnt need to be impossible, that said the walls should be more realistic and hold up a little better to unit attack (better yet, units shouldnt be able to bring down stone unless they are sappers or tunnelers or demolitionman), smoother ability to build walls, ability to build one section of a wall without dragging it(for example: when repairing a downed wall i have to remove another section just to build the whole wall back up, more time in a level to actually use strategy, many of the levels lead you without strategy and many of them are time to the point where you cant lose yourself in the building of an awesome castle a challenge for a major cpu enemy... It takes the fun away. I will probably think of others but for now that is all ive got. Thanks for listening and thanks for the constant patches and care of your consumers unlike many other gaming companies, that being said like i said earlier i still play all of the versions of stronghold because of the challenges, the fun, the strategy, and genius in building those games, all i and other fans ask is for the game to be better than its predecessors (it is not currently) and if that is not achievable to make it at least as good as the earlier versions. I like many others paid full price for this game even after reading the negative reviews because from my experience with firefly in the past you guys have always fixed and patched the bugs, i didnt wait a few months for the price to drop by half or 6 months to pay less than half of the original price like what happens to so many computer games because of bugs, negative reviews, time, and interest. Give us what we paid for, keep us interested, and get us revved up and wanting for more! Again thanks for listening and thank you for the hours of entertainment you have provided!
