This is great to hear! Anyword on if skirmish will be included in the content patches? That is the main reason I am putting off purchasing stronghold 3(I am confident the bugs will be fixed). Skirmish added probably 60-70 hours of life to stronghold 2, so no skirmish means no buy.

There will always be some bugs - after all it's software I give you that.
Nevertheless I wouldn't have bought this game knowing what I know now:
- that stronghold 3 just isn't finished yet
- and that it will take months to fix.

And unless the guys at firefly never bothered to actually play stronghold 3 they knew too.

At this stage this whole 'we're listening, we're trying to fix it, we're trying to implement some of the promised features over the next weeks, we're in this together' is quite insulting, as it is most certainly not what I've bought - otherwise I would have asked to check out your repositories.

"Some of the unit commands don't work.
The 'Rally points' and 'Attack a specified area' UI commands currently have no effect. These features will be coming soon! (c) SH 3 FAQ"
... sums it all up.

From what I've read there are reviewers who have given up testing stronghold, as playing experience varies from absolutely nerve wrecking at best to virtually impossible.

Some bugfixing and balancing problems, that's alright with me - but on this scale - I feel like I'm commissioning firefly.

It just keeps bugging me: I thought I was buying a game (and it was presented as such) and bought an unfinished software project instead - that is not what I signed up for.

For me the three biggest issues that should be addressed in the next patch are:

1) The obvious lack of camera tilt
2) The obvious lack of camera tilt
3) The food usage/productivity imbalance

And if there's time for a fourth I'd add.
4) The obvious lack of camera tilt

later,
pat

I kind of find it too little, too late. FF already angered WAY too many fans with SH2 and lost a lot of people there. Now this fiasco. Dogs can climb ladders? How stoned were you that you didn't find that bug? Did you guys think no one would notice?

Patch it all you want, you ****ed too many off this time. I haven't seen ANY positive feedback in any of the forums. Not even from diehard fanatics. I wouldn't be surprised to see SH die here... Have fun fixing what should have been fixed pre-release.

Dear Stronghold fans,

You may not think it, but we at Firefly pay attention to almost every word you say. Whether it’s a Facebook comment, forum post, tweet or rant on your blog, if it’s about Stronghold chances are that someone at Firefly will have read it. The series has long had a devout following of fans, many of whom have been with us from the very start and we value all your comments.

Stronghold 3 is finally out and at this point we wanted to update everybody on our ‘road map’ for taking the game forward. As with previous Stronghold titles we are listening to feedback and fixing the most widespread issues first.

Initially we will be releasing a series of smaller patches to address any immediate problems with the game, such as stability, multiplayer problems and major game play affecting bugs.

Following on from this will be a series of larger patches that will add in refinements and features that didn’t make it into the original release, along with smaller bug fixes and improvements.

Once we are happy with the above, we will in the future release both new content and new features that we or you have thought of since release.

For us releasing a patch is not a trivial event, it needs to strike the right balance between frequency of release and having enough worthwhile content.

It also has to have a period of testing, so that the patch itself does not introduce further issues. Given Firefly’s small size as a developer, this will probably mean the initial patches will be released on roughly a weekly basis.

Rest assured however, we love Stronghold as much as you do and we are working hard on improving and adding to Stronghold 3 to make it the game we all want it to be. We will continue to do so over the coming months.

Yours Sincerely,

Firefly

We shall see about that, what will happen is that you will patch it a few times then announce SHC2.

To firefly: You guy's should cut your losses here and move on to stronghold 4, now that I know skirmish is definitly out of the question I am done with sh3. What happened here, how could you **** up so badly? Rest assured, if you guys make it through this I will be here for sh4. I am really let down by this effort though, this game was my second most anticipated game of 2011 and you botched it. I just hope you make it through this so you can make it right on the next game.
