First off, I am really computer illiterate so if you do have a fix please dumb it down for me. I bought and downloaded this from gog.com.

The game gives me an error of Stronghold.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

So far I have played around with the compatibility modes and have not found the correct setup to get this to run on my machine. I have uninstalled and re installed, rebooted, my c: drive does not have the {C917BA70-28A3-4C74-B163-41FD8C8E1A5A} folder in the program files, and there is no other folder with anything related to stronghold in any of the other like named files.

This is one of my all time favorite games and I would love to get it working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
