for myself the map ended up unplayable laggy thanx to the great programming of the game.
i got a Geforce N580 GTX that is, one of the latest Geforce models.
it should be able to play the game without any lag.
so its seems, its really the game itself that can not handle this map.
lets hope some patch will be able to make it playable.
i hope other players done have these kind of problems with this map ?
So this is why FF didnt include any huge maps knowing the larger the map the more lag you would encounter?
Seriously FF needs a new quality assurance team or better programmers or both.

yea
i posted in this topic some screenshots of the afterburner.
and as you can see, and i also stated it there, the CPU usage of the card during the gameplay itself is so low!
i hope some other users can test this too and post it in that topic too. so they can't use the excuse that it is my pc that has this problem (cuz im sure it not)

Im sure they will tell us the problem is our hardware and not their software which we both know is a load of bunk.

well its still an test release to be honest.
but SH3 will need to do some fixing be4 i can finish this map.
as long as FF can't fix the lagging, the invasions, so on, this will still be a test release

I played your map and it lagged like crazy. I know this is not your fault because I can play other graphics intensive games without a single problem. For example:
Spacemarine, graphics set to highest, antialiasing x4, absolutely no lag. Likewise, not a hint of lag on any Dawn of War 1 or 2 title. There are often hundreds of units on-screen with detailed terrain, lots of bolter fire and explosions. Never been a problem for my machine. Call of Duty, Battlefield 3, StarCraft 2, Skyrim? Not so much as a hiccup. Same computer HUGE difference in playability.
Simple deduction, coupled with evidence from other player's experiences, suggest the programming code of SH3 is deeply flawed. I mean, what's the use of a complex scenario editor, when you cannot even place simple terrain on a homebuilt map for fear of creating an in-game lag problem?
Enough ranting. I give your map an 8 of 10 for complexity, eye-candy, depth of story and interesting detail. The failings are all Firefly...

1869_Flame. Just to let you know, I looked at your map and liked it a lot, but did not try to play it.
After closing your map, I started playing "The Ghost Town" and crashed.
I sent the following message to FireFly. Not your problem; a SH3 problem. Since your map was involved, I just wanted to let you know.
============================================
I have been playing free builds and economic campaigns with no crashes except an occasional crash on exit.
However, today I downloaded 1869_Flame's user map "The_Valley_XL_V0.27_A" and opened it as a user map. I only looked around it. I then exited the map and started the economic campaign of The Ghost Town. After a save, the game soon crashed. I restarted SH3 and when I loaded the saved game and let it play without making any changes, it quickly crashed.
I rebooted my PC, started SH3 and again played the economic campaign of The Ghost Town without problem. I then loaded the saved game and it quickly crashed again.
My supposition is that in loading Flame's map and looking around, SH3 was changed so that when I played my regular campaign, I crashed. After a fresh start of SH3, I didn't crash.
Attached is the saved game that crashes when loaded. It crashes as soon as the Lord finishes clearing a ruins.
I have also attached a pdf showing an inventory of all hardware and software on my system.
I also did a reboot of my PC, started ProcMon (part of Sysinternals), started SH3 with Steam in Offline mode, loaded the game, let it crash, stopped ProcMon as soon as I got back to Windows. I should therefore have a log of the time from starting SH3 to after the crash. I would have attached the ProMon log but compressed to 85M and that is too large to send via Gmail. If you want to see it, let me know and tell me how to send it to you."
