How come I get the feeling they JUST started the whole "we are working" part of this game. Listening should have begun when you threw the ideas out of what you wanted to do. Like, "hey, we should make a great game." apparently you either ignored that one or heard, "hey, remember what we did wrong with SH2 and that ****ed everyone off? let's do it again, but better!" fixing bugs won't save this game, you pretty much ****ed yourselves over when you ***** slapped the fans AGAIN.

SH4-it will literally come with a jack in the box that aims for your nuts.

Following on from this will be a series of larger patches that will add in refinements and features that didn't make it into the original release, along with smaller bug fixes and improvements.

Once we are happy with the above, we will in the future release both new content and new features that we or you have thought of since release.

So you agree that you knowingly shipped an incomplete product. Thanks for the confirmation.

For us releasing a patch is not a trivial event, it needs to strike the right balance between frequency of release and having enough worthwhile content.

It also has to have a period of testing, so that the patch itself does not introduce further issues. Given Firefly’s small size as a developer, this will probably mean the initial patches will be released on roughly a weekly basis.

It sounds like you are going to test the patches more than the shipping product; this is somewhat indactive of a company whose cashflow is so poor that it intentionally took funds for a product unfit for sale.

I am glad, however, that you admit that you intentionally did release the game before it was ready as that provides a very solid legal basis for seeking a return and refund.

Having looked around at reviews on the net, I think it's fair to say that it's very unlikely you'll get much in further sales of this product. The damage has already been done, irrespective of how hard you will work to repair it.

Agreed with above post.
The damage has been done and the best thing for SH3 owners to do is to seek a refund/return then after a few months of patches you will no doubt be able to pick up this title cheap.

Im glad ive kept my copy in the wrapper as i am going to return it to Gamestop asap for Skyrim.

You are listening to us, your fan base, so much that you are not even going to add skirmish mode... The ENTIRE community wants it!!! And yet you are not giving it to us??? So to get this straight.. You first give us an uncomplete game that you admit to giving us... Then you do not fix it and put in the content that this community wants? A good company, especially a gaming company, gives its clients what they want... Otherwise, the companies clients become clients of other companies.. Which is what is happening right now...

Wake up and fix the games issues and give us the content we want!

Stronghold 3 - We are listening and we are working 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Dear Firefly Studios,

I've been playing Stronghold since 2001 and it is still my favourite game. i bought every single game of it and i played all of them.

With Stronghold 3 you wanted to give us a new dimension of Stronghold feeling....but where are the epic soundtracks? where are the new troops? in every game you put a lot of new soldiers that we could deal with....and now? Simon Bradbury, please include more love for the detail!

i was so excited while i heard Stronghold 3 is coming out. I bought it for 50 Euros, just to support you where i can.

when i started the game,i couldnt believe whats happening...the middle age feeling was there....but...the Stronghold feeling is missing!

i keep in mind that you put a lot of work in Stronghold 3. But why these bugs? why these imperfectly details?

I know that technology changes and you can't bring out 2D Stronghold 3...honestly,i didnt expect that.

What I expect from you, Firefly Studios, is a Stronghold 3 game, that electrify me.

My Expectations for you Firefly Studios:

- Please include a mercenary post with new troops. Every Stronghold game had that and Stronghold 3 need it,too

- More Love for the detail.

- epic Soundtracks. I know that you can do that.

- Skirmish mode. It's necessary

Finally I can say that my expectations aren't that big, I love Stronghold and I will love it forever. And I will still support you Firefly Studios. Just fix these problems, and everything will be fine.

To Stronghold 3 in general: It can be a really great game.

Sincerely,

DucVolpe

DucVolpe03 i so agree with you, for me it brings a lot of good memory's playing this game, its even one of those games i still play (SH1 and Crusader) just because of the great gameplay it offers.

I really was hoping for larger maps with SH3 because of the posibility it brings for strategy and hide and seek tactics, kinda missed that with SH1 and Crusader.

So i ask the developers to please make this the game we all want it to be, add skirmish and make larger maps..

It would make a lot of people very happy.

Regards, Sihanada

My loyalty is still to the king!
Although I fully agree with Duc Volpe 03,
and am disappointed for the very same reasons.
Am,once again, attacking old enemy's for now,
but will wait for new marching orders (read: patches),
to start the new campaign called part 3...
(am an old warhorse as well )

Re:Stronghold 3 – We are listening and we are working 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Well put DucVolpe.

While I understand the disappointment that many have with the amount of bugs and glitches, I don't understand the kind of complaining that they are doing.

Developers, especially small ones like Firefly, spend MOST of their times developing a game that they are requested to make. They do their best to work out all the bugs but are often faced with a time line to have their work placed on a shelf to sell. It is called marketing. Unfortunately, those that often call the punches and give the marching order often place the developers in bad positions when they feel a product needs a few more weeks or even a month before they feel it is ready for release.

What I see is this situation with Stronghold 3. A lot (and I DO mean a lot) of work, a lot of detail, just not enough time was given to the development staff to work out some of the more serious issues.

The second situation I see is often developers can't get enough testers to test a product enough to find bugs that they themselves can not see under their limited and often identical computer setups. Once a product is released, what ran perfectly fine for the developer shows problems on systems it has not been tested on yet.

I personally have only experienced TWO bugs. I have never crashed, never had and glitches, or any of the posted problems except wolves/bears climbing ladders and if you make your own maps, a pause/lag about every 10 to 20 seconds lasting up to 5 seconds while playing the player created map.

The only other problem I seem to have, but unrelated to firefly directly, is the lack of anything to register my game on steam. I have a game box, I have a disk, and that is all that I got from the store. Haven't finished arguing with the store yet about it, simply hard to get back to the store. Should have ordered it online through Impulse as digital download... This 'steam' stuff out of the box has made more than one game hard to play and often impossible to update. If you can get ANY control of the distribution Firefly, please make the retail box version not requiring steam to do any game play so those of us with limited internet access are not stuck with a box and game without the ability to play it or having to find other ways to install the game from the disk purchased that we shouldn't need to do.
