Realistic building? 1 Year, 4 Months ago
Hey maybe could add as a feature pack that when a building is placed you can see construction? In Imperivm Romanvm when a bulding is sited, workers bring materials to the spot and construct the building.So,i.e a Poleturner would take a day to construct if there are a sizable amount of spare workers. Please respond.Joe.

I remember another game where this was possible ...
and which, thematically is clostest to Stronghold:
"Castles"

while its graphics (being a game from the 90s) are absolutely subpar to todays standards, it had some features that Stronghold 3 is missing:

You were able to define height and thickness of walls (without getting just 2 different walls), you could (in design mode of the castle) define extras (like arrow slits)

and, when you had hired the necessary amount of workers and assigned them to the wall,
it would get built (which included little sprite men erecting scaffolds as soon as the wall reached a certain height).
Work would also grind to a halt if one section of the wall would get much higher than the surrounding wall sections (because this wall section would then become instable).

(you btw. also were able to hire diggers to dig a moat).

So, yes, I am absolutely pro making building walls a little bit more realistic --> signed

That would be pretty cool. I remember playing Age ov Empires 2 years ago and it had that feature. You can see the progress ov the villagers building

Meh, the game would then become very long and in the end boring.

They could add this feature however, but then it should be an on/off feature and the building time should be like 40 seconds tops.

Waste of time adding it to the game now! Strongholds have never been like this. Would be quite a big job to model the building stages of every building being made.

Many more important things that need fixing.

It doesn't have to be drastically long. Although I have a feeling it would cause problems. This included with the games native issues would be a problem

This could be a cool feature for a future game (don't see it getting added to this one) but I agree with Killzowned that you should be able to toggle it on or off depending on your mood. At least for freebuild mode.

Not so guys. This would be no waste of time, Imperium Romanum did a really good job of this without making it to long or boring. Just the more slaves you had,the faster the work would go. Watch this video link. Joe.

Unfortunately this may be true ...
as the game wasn´t designed with this feature in mind,
it would most probably require a lot of reworking, to include it,
as well as lots of playtesting for not only bugfinding, but also balancing purposes.

Considering the current state of the game (which still requires adding of features and debugging) it would be more realistic to hope for this feature in Stronghold 4, whenever this game will see the light.
