It's pretty shocking from the user's point of view that this game was ever released... All I can think of as an excuse is an EXTREME lack of budget with a development team of about 5 people in all. Firefly should have sold the rights to this game to a more well equiped company and cut their losses, would've saved the amount of serious damage control needed to save this title; short of a miracle I don't think there will be a stronghold 4. A real shame.

What I think should have happened, and might be fixable;
- some new sounds and music... the same music and unit sounds and voices as SH1??? REALLY??!
- directx 10 or 11 utilization... improved 3d rendering, better lighting, smoother graphics performance
- a complete overhaul of the textures and animations... floating leggless scarecrows pushing the catapults??? no gory death sequences??? IS there any blood??? wait, a puff of faint red I think that was it...
- a complete overhaul of the economic balance... peasant food consumption 3 times too high, resource production 2 times too slow, peasant reproduction system flawed and glitchy
- an option for all troops to run and charge the enemy... I thought that would be a given!!!
- a complete reworking of the unit AI... this has been addressed but still needs work - archers get stuck if you move them too often etc etc
- a defence bonus for troops on a wall or tower... this should be SO obvious!!!
- formation locking for battles... ie you can set a group with sheilds in the front row, archers just behind and macemen in the rear, which you can lock into formation as you approach the enemy

If these are addressed and fixed I'll be totally amazed, and will go out and buy the game. I borrowed the game from my younger brother who took it back after 3 days for a full refund.

GOOD LUCK GUYS, I sincerely hope you can pull off a miracle here and salvage this game; I, like most fans of the stronghold title really want to see this game succeed.

Along side the other comments, I want to put just one thing. Please bring back the crusader type game play. I noticed in Stronghold 3 you dont get to start a game where its you and apponents starting out with just the right amount of gold and food, and thats it. That is the part of stronghold crusaders that I absolutely loved and still play even today. I was soley dissapointed about how much gameplay there is outside of the campaign....On a side note, the graphics are awesome but if you look back to crusaders, you would have a much much much better game.

I love the series of Stronghold and the third part I liked!

But there are bugs and wishes. Developers, please hear me!

1. Optimize the multiplayer!
2. Add the trenches!
3. Add more maps and modes in multiplayer. The night ----> Multiplayer, no? I want to see the night in multiplayer! )
4. Fix silly mistake! My units are not automatically attack!
5. Units blunt on the walls and get stuck.

I've seen videos of this, and noticed a lack of grid.

My suggestion would be to make an option where you can enable and disable grid system, I found it easier with grid.

Key things:

Peasants eat way too much
Goods production is too slow
The game NEEDS a skirmish mode
Fix the crashes
Defense bonus for being on a tower/wall
Units need to run by default
